Faith

Sometimes there will be people that just don't want to progress. Just today we met this couple and the lady had a copy of the Book of Mormon and I asked if it would be ok for us to call her and to teach her more about it. It looked like that she wanted us to call, but her husband piped up and said that he doesn't want to learn about any religion because he is an atheist. He just likes learning about all different types of religions. It was really sad because she had that precious book in her hands and she doesn't even know what she is holding! The Book of Mormon is meant to change your life and is meant to bring you closer to God, but if you don't even want to know about God, then what good can it do? I wish that we could've gotten at least the ladies phone number so that we could invite her to pray about it, but I guess she's not prepared yet. There's not much you can do because it is their choice and sometimes they do feel the Spirit, but they don't know what it is so they don't know what to do with the feeling that they have. But this is the Lord's work and don't stress to much about it because He is watching over His church. In the July ensign there is an article entitled A time for Faith not Fear. In it it says, "Sometimes--after we have fasted, prayed, and done all we can do to dispel clouds that have not parted; after we have gone into the dark and expected further light that has not appeared; after we have lived the commandments through difficulties that remain unrelenting--we simply need to turn things over to our Heavenly Father." Later in the article it then says, "one of the Twelve Apostles said this, 'This is the Lord's work--let Him do some of it.'" Then President Uchtdorf said, "Brethren, let the Lord do some of the heavy lifting." I leave that with you and hope you can gain some insights from this email.
Love you!!!
