Full Day P-Days!

Yes everyone...we get full day p-days now! It's because all of the sisters on Temple Square are working so hard and just recently Elder L.Tom Perry said that he wanted the Square to open at 8 and each day a zone has been coming to open the Square at 8am. So we all have had a toll on our bodies and these p-days are much needed to get everything done for the coming weeks. We get these full day p-days until the end of the transfer. It's pretty sweet! On Sunday we went to another ward to speak in their sacrament meeting. It's always nice to go to a family ward. I miss seeing the sacrament being passed by the younger generation of priesthood holders. It's so wonderful seeing them exercise their faith in their priesthood and their love for God. Maybe they don't see it that way, but I do. So we're still talking with Stanley, but he still drinks tea. He knows that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he knows that he received revelation, but he doesn't think that tea should be apart of the Word of Wisdom. We're trying to explain to him and all that jazz, but we hope he'll be baptized this month. We also have a new investigator from North Carolina, I think, and he is Baptist, but he really likes this religion. He wants to learn more and he will be baptized. He went to church without our asking him. He just wants to learn! I hope he's for real because those baptists can be hard! On the Square yesterday we were talking with this man from China, but he's lived in New York for a while so he knows English pretty well. He really likes the peace that he felt here and how nice the people are. We gave him a Book of Mormon and got his number. He's our newest investigator I wish that we had more time in the TC, but since it's summer time we had to cut down a lot on TC time. I just have so many people to call and little time to call them in! I need to contact all my people before I go outbound, too! It's crazy, but good to be busy doing the Lord's work!
 Love ya all!

Fun Things

So some pretty fun things happened this week! We saw Elder M. Russell Ballard in the basement of the north, but we didn't go up to him cuz we're not allowed. It was great to see him from afar, though! We also got asked by this family where we hid our spaceship....they were totally serious, too! They wanted to know where the mormon spaceship was! We told her that it was the Tabernacle and that we would hie to Kolob in it. Hahaha! Just kidding! We don't have a spaceship and we told them that! It was so funny, though! We also met this guy who said that his dad started THE mormon church and that he met Joseph Smith. Crazy people! So I don't know if you all have seen this mormon message, but it is pretty great. I know that this gospel is true and you probably know that too. I just wanted to invite all of you to ask again. To ask God, the Eternal Father if these things are not true. I promise you that God will let you know! The reason that I'm telling you this is because I have been meeting a lot of inactive people on the square and through chat. None of them ever thought they would ever go inactive, but it can happen to anybody especially because these are the last days. Even the very elect will be persuaded to leave. http://www.lds.org/pages/mormon-messages I know you all are great and don't worry about me! God is taking care of me!
 Love ya!

Cousin

Hello,
The other day I saw Scott and Delene and Harrison right before he went into the MTC!! It was super cool and it was nice to get to see them. I feel so blessed to have so many cousins and siblings out on missions right now doing the Lord's work! So I think I might've told you this already, but our new assignment is youth conference! So we're in charge of some youth conferences that schedule to be here on Temple Square. Our first youth conference was yesterday and it was really fun! We meet with them in the morning and talk with them and do activities with them. So we played the game, "the boat is sinking" and we tied in to a mormon message. I would like to invite you all to watch it. https://www.lds.org/pages/mormon-messages#dare-to-stand-alone I'm sure you can guess what we told the youth after watching that, but it is such a powerful message about how we need to stand up for what is right no matter what! It can be something hard to do, but it can be done just like in this little mormon message. You see all those kids being faced with something difficult, but they're able to say no. Sometimes it's not that easy, but even though it's hard that is what the Lord expects you to do. He expects us to say no because we have help. We may think we're standing alone, but we're always standing with our Heavenly Father! He will never forsake us. I never thought I would say this, but I love talking in front of people and talking to them about the gospel! I do it everyday and I know this is preparing me for the rest of my life as I continue in this church and with my church callings. Maybe it's because I want my voice to be heard, just kidding! I always try to have the Spirit talk through me! You are all so great and I love ya!

Prepare

Hey people,
It was great to give a tour to some of my family and the Stevens' family! It was kind of nerve wracking just because there was so much pressure on my shoulders. It was fun to show off my knowledge , but I tried to give them a spiritual experience as well! I hope I succeeded. So today I took my trainer to the airport and it was super sad. I didn't think this day would come, but it did and it just makes me realize that I don't have much left on my mission either. I almost wish it would never end because I don't think I've learned everything that I need to! There's so much I need to learn still and I know I do have like 7 months left, but they go by so fast. Use every opportunity that you have to prepare to meet God. That is what this life is for like it says in Alma 34:32, "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." The things that I'm learning and going to learn on my mission are things that can help me to prepare to meet God. What are you doing to prepare?
Love you all!
